When Cora came to stay.

This is Cora. She's my niece. And I'm her auntie bear.
There's lots of fun to be had when it's Cora-time.

Pretty little flower girl.

Faerie magic fun times.

Little bit of tongue in cheek.

Tea parties - yes. Table manners - no no.

HEY! Safety first kids.

Sparkles.

... and hours of fun on ole Betty Mac.

Some time, little girl

Here I am in my room, surrounded by a mountain of clothes. If my mom walks in right now she will die from the mess. See I'm finally gutting my wardrobe, so today I'm going through and deciding what's gotta go and what has to stay. I have found soo many dresses with the tags still on its unreal, forgotten in the mist of everything else, dresses that I've cut the tags off but never even worn, and dresses that I've worn once hated and sworn never to wear again. Golly I've even found dresses I never knew I had! Did I mention I have an obsession for dresses. And even worse, buying them. I'm a proper clothes fiend. I can by no means even dare to calculate how much crap I have. Dresses, shoes, tops, skirts, knits, bags, belts, jewellery, hats, coats; I have a collection of all. Darn I even have a collection of socks. I just love clothes and shopping a little too much! But I'm doing a good job so far de-cluttering my life. I've tried to get rid of things before but I'm too sentimental, and I'd end up getting rid of very little. But I dunno, things have changed. Life's changed so much over these last few months. I've got to be more cut throat in life, not so manby panby. Too be more decisive and  grab life by the scruff of its neck and make the most of everything that it throws my way.  I've been really ill recently and today I've felt so much better and more alike myself. So I thought today will be my day of change - out with the old and in with the new. A fresh start for the autumn times.  And the soundtrack to my 'spring/autumn clean' is the awesome Jimmy Eat world. Especially 'The Middle' as it completely reflects me in life right now. So I'm gonna carry on jumping around like a berk whilst drinking fizzy cola and pretending to tidy up. Chow.

Oriental friends in the land of SOUP!

Soup, well Covent Garden soup to be of fact, is an extremely yummy beast. My favourite flavour: leek and potato. I kinda went through a phase a while back of eating soup everyday. Though I think I may of soup overdosed! Hence why I kept my distance for the past month or so. But today I have been tempted by the beast and will cave in to the yummy soupy taste once again.
Today's flavour: plum tomato and basil, with a handful of soups crunchy friends, croutons.

And how could I possibly post a blog about soup without paying respect to le Boosh's soup crimp song.
All together now ..."Soup, soup, a tasty .........."

Dusty pages of life

Today I am sleepy. And not very productive either. But I did find a bunch of my old sketchbooks dating back to my college days. I really enjoyed flicking through the dusty pages remembering all the time, effort and tears that went into creating them. Amongst them included my old photography folder, my lingerie design and research sketch books, my final  collection designs from college, and numerous sketch books from my first years at uni. I must say reminiscing my past artistic expressions has given me a boost in inspiration that I really need to get back on top of these crappy few months.
Here are the illustrations from my BTEC final collection titled "New Romantics: music, make-up, fashion, sex."

Sew sew sew your ......... knickers?

I was never any good at keeping a diary, at any age. I'd always forget to write in it. Alike this blogger, I am too forgetful. But today I remembered (yay me).

I am just sitting in front of my sewing machine, trying to remember where I put the darn instruction manual, whilst drinking a frothy latte. No one is in, just me and the cat and she's asleep in the window. Bless her, everyone will think she doesn't have a comfy bed she can sleep in. She has two. And a pet mattress. But she prefers to sleep on a hard wooden chest. Strange girl.

It does seem after I swore I don't want a career sewing, that ever since graduating, sewing is all I seem to be doing. I made my graduation dress, had a job as a seamstress, become the local alterations lady fixing everyone's clothes and bits, making posh fancy cushion covers and my range of lingerie that I shall be selling soon hopefully. Maybe I should swear I'd hate to be rich and happy, that it might just come true.

So in this time of me 'blogging' my parents have returned home, mother found the instruction manual and the sewing machine is fixed. Oh and empty cup. And I am kinda fed also. That's if a dairlylea dunker classes as proper food.

Tonight I am attending a wedding reception of a girl I used to go to kiddy school with and haven't seen in over 10 years. Its gonna be a strange reunion, normally I catch up with people over a coffee or hey! summat stronger, tonight though there's gonna be lace and flowers and family members oohh and maybe food. This could turn out fab after all. I will just remind myself to watch out for drunken relatives and sugar fuelled kids and it'll be chocks away kittens. Gotta find a dress to wear. Though that shouldn't be tricky with the hoard I have. The problem I had was what do I give as a wedding gift to someone I haven't seen in so long. I haven't a clue what she likes/hates. Mother suggested I try and remember what she used to like when we were kids. But I can hardly turn up with a Barbie doll and some fizzy pop and say Heeeeeeeyyyyyyyyyyyyyy!! Remember me and the good ole days aaayyy?! No no, silly mom.

So in the end I put my talents to some use and made these cushion covers; something pretty and fancy yet practical.

The print is elegant yet modern and should blend into any colour scheme. They can be used upon the sofa to spruce up the living room, or upon the bed, like in the picture, to make the bed look luxurious and exciting. One is hoping she'll like them though.

And here's another reason I  have been busy bee like, my knickers. These little fancies are hopefully gonna help bring the bacon home for this kitten. I have a small collection building but need to get cracking on more designs soooooon! I am feeling the need for high waisted floral knickers. OOOOOOOOOoooooohhhhh peee panting excitedness!

So if I want al le dollar I have to keep on sewing :/

Right I have a card to make. Best go find my pritt stick.
